Analogy

I sit on the marble steps outside St. Peter’s Church (ELCA) in Manhattan and watch through the glass the end of their service. I eat my banh mi sandwich as the congregation greets each other in their farewells. A young sparrow hops next to me and flies away before I can offer a bit of bread. What goes on inside the Church goes on outside the Church.
